Nicky-FarquhairNicky has been working as an Interior Designer since 1998, following a course at the Inchbald School of Design. Since that time, she has worked on many diverse projects, both large and small, abroad and in the UK.

Currently Nicky is focused on her work for Calcot Hotels, where she is the Design Director. She is responsible for the overall look and design of the three hotels, from the smaller details to the larger areas of the restaurants, public rooms and bedrooms. Occasionally this involves working with other specialist designers but more often than not, her office handles all the hotel design work. Their work includes doing the schemes, the sourcing and procurement of furniture, decorative accessories, as well as commissioning bespoke cabinetry. Enormous importance is placed on combining the practical elements of hotel design with creative, comfortable, unique and personal interiors.

In 2014 Nicky completed the total redesign and refurbishment of The Lord Crewe Arms Hotel in Blanchland, Northumberland. This is a 21 bedroom property, public house and restaurant. Every element of the hotel has been designed, restored and furnished. At Calcot Manor Hotel, Calcot Spa, Barnsley House Hotel and the Village Pub, there is a continual rolling programme of refurbishment projects throughout the year for re-designing and upgrade various rooms. 2015 has seen Nicky working on The Painswick hotel,  another total redesign and refurbishment of 17 bedrooms and public spaces due to open in the first half of 2016.  Not one to be work shy, she is also working on a private project alongside the new hotel.

ToriTori joined in 2012 as both Nicky’s Private and Business PA bringing with her a wealth of experience in project management.
